Foreign Ministry “deeply concerned” about the situation in Gaza calls for the suspension of the Israeli plan

The Portuguese government called this Friday for the suspension of Israel's plan to occupy Gaza and expressed its "deep concern" about the situation.
The decision by Benjamin Netanyahu's government "jeopardizes ceasefire efforts and worsens the humanitarian tragedy," reads a post by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the social network X.
The Portuguese government is deeply concerned about the Israeli government's new plan to occupy Gaza. It undermines ceasefire efforts and worsens the humanitarian tragedy. It must be suspended, giving way to a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and the urgent arrival of aid.

Israel's plan "must be suspended, give way to a ceasefire, the release of hostages and the urgent entry of aid," the ministry, led by Paulo Rangel, also urges.
It should be noted that the Israeli security cabinet approved this Friday a proposal from the prime minister for the military occupation of Gaza City, in the north of the enclave.
